Knife week, Day 1

Really good class guys, we learned some of the alternatives in a 1 on 1 situation against a moving opponent. We learned to Survive and Evade. We learned how to react when cornered, this was day 1. We learned that a small slap, or bending body movement can really change a situation, it can keep you alive.

This is one of those classes that has to be done live. Try to make it habit that when you do the knife slap down, please keep your thumb up, out of the way of the knife. Always be mobile, sure it gets hard, we let up a little when fatigue sets in or we just plain get stupid, happens to all of us. A wise man once said "The more you sweat in training, the less you bleed in battle." So true.

Saturday, we are going to learn a little more about flowing with the knife although all did well. Working with or against a knife is fluid motion up until the most brutal disarm you can throw on the opponent. None of this is pretty, except the movement of the knife. Using your body to move the knife can make your stabbing a bit faster and please remember if you are the attacker, if you see a guy raise up a forearm and you are in zone 1 -3, shave that forearm with the blade. I ordered a couple more knives, hopefully they will be here by Friday, just in time for Saturday's mayhem.
